Temporary Radiotherapy Vault (TRV)
The
TRV
is a
Temporary
Radiotherapy
Vault
developed to enable Radiation Oncology departments and practices to
continue to treat patients while upgrading their Linear Accelerator
and renovating their vaults.
What’s the difference?
The Patented RAD PRO System has been around for several years and is
perfect as a permanent or bridge solution. By “bridge”
solution is meant a 24 -48 month use facility that serves to bridge
the time period between groundbreaking of a traditional Cancer
Center and the time of completion resulting in the treatment of
patients.
With the RAD PRO System, any facility can begin treating patients
and start producing revenue within four (4) to six (6) months of
going to contract.
There are many instances
where the customer only needs a three (3) to Six (6) month solution
while they remove old equipment, renovate their facility or increase
their shielding, install upgraded, modern equipment and go through
the Acceptance and Commissioning process. It was for this purpose
that RAD developed the patented
TRV.
There are over a thousand practices in the US with antiquated
equipment
- unable to shut down long enough to update their facilities with
equipment capable of delivering IMRT or IGRT treatments. The
cost of equipment replacement, in terms of lost revenue, threat to
revenue streams via lost referral patterns and loss of staff is
simply too great. The
TRV
by
RAD-Technology Medical Systems
is the solution. Developed for short term leasing, the
TRV
is a highly relocatable radiation vault with the Linear Accelerator
installed and tested prior to shipment. Beam data modeled for
Eclipse, Pinnacle or CMS treatment planning systems can be sent
ahead of installation so treatment plans of existing patients can be
prepared in advance and the practice can be ready to deliver
treatments on the day of acceptance without the need to ramp down
from the existing facility and ramp up to the new.
RAD’s first
TRV
is equipped with a Low Energy Varian 600C/D, including a 120 Leaf
MLC and an aSi-500 Portal Imager. The
TRV
has been designed to shield and house a 6/10 High Energy Linac as
well and this will be an option in future
TRV
units for an additional fee. The
TRV
is available for rental only, with a minimum three (3) month lease
period, and will not be offered for sale. Three (3) to six (6)
months is the anticipated normal lease period but longer leases are
possible where necessary.
A brief outline of the
TRV:
Customer is responsible for all utility services and fees. Customer is also responsible for soil testing, minimal foundation and, of course, the land, such as the parking lot of the existing structure. |
